whats the story

Amazon.com: (What's The Story) Morning Glory? (Remastered): CDs & Vinyl

mic the snare recently released a new installment of his deep discog dive series, and this time it was on oasis. these vids almost always get me to listen to some of the subject's discography, and this time was no different. so how did i like whats the story morning glory? the answer is i liked it quite a bit. mic referred to it as an answer to the darker grunge sound at the time and i think thats a really good way of putting it: its happier sounding but still loud and abrasive. as i like to put it: its like if the beatles actually sounded good. that is tongue and cheek from me but i do also kinda mean it, part of the reason i dont actively go out of my way to listen to the beatles is because i dont find their actual sound appealing, as good as the songwriting obviously is. oasis for me is a more accessible version of that quality songwriting and it oozes through every song here. i especially love some might say, champagne supernova, and hey now, and of course the all time classics like wonderwall and dont look back in anger are still as good as they always will be. all that being said, the album overall isn't quite for me, and while ill definitely come back to some of the songs on it, the album as a whole package just doesnt really fit what im looking for in music generally.
