this is an album i shouldve gotten to a long time ago. I’ve listened to some of the songs on here to death while not having heard some of the other ones at all. Consequently, this was a weird listen all the way through, but that’s not the fault of the album at all, which is great. Between this and Shed, Title Fight has one of the best back to back album releases of our time. The way they’re able to blend the intensity of their hardcore roots with the emotion and listlessness of contemporary midwest emo acts at the time makes for a one of a kind band, in my opinion. No other band does it as well, and no other album does it as well as Floral Green does. Head in the Ceiling Fan is the prime example of this: raw and loud, but simultaneously vulnerable and tender. Many other songs on this record also do this really well though (Frown has always been one of my favorites). I think Title Fight might be in the conversation for one of my favorite bands of all time at this point, they deliver emotion in the exact way I want out of my music.
